hi i am dayna i am 6 months pregnant going there a tough pregnancy i am about to deliever when ever he wants to come i have had 7 miscarriages and 1 preterm birth now i am about to have a early7 baby again i am 21 and need help i have no where to live my husband and i  have no family thats able to help since they cant help them selfs most of them and we have no where to turn i have a 11 month old son that dss took from us and ruined ours lives we had it all then a hospital made a simple mistake and then boom there i life went in so many ways our son may be blind due to the neglect and when they found that out they took our son and made up lies so we would look at fault even though we werent they riped our lives apart now since then we still have no baby no where to live and my husband cant keep a job since then at first i didnt believe the state could do such a thing but now 8 months later of pure pain and torcher i relize there is no other reason but that please if any one has resources anything please it is cold and we have nothing and i mean nothing thanks

Hi Me and our family are evicted as of 6/07we went down to welfare to get help but were denied for rental asst. I just gave birth to a baby girl 5lbs 7oz . we went to court 3/20/07 and the judge had no heart and didnt want to hear my side of the story we broke our lease because i married in 4/06 to my husban of 12 years and we live in subsidizehousing and my landloard told me since my husban has a drug record back from 1990 he cant be put on the lease so i still let him stay any way cause we are in love and have two kids. so the judge said it was violating the lease. we have no help! im out on medical leave and he cant find a full time job just part time at the press. We have no where to live... we were evicted out of our subsidize housing and have a warrent of removal as of 6/07 The judge said i breech my lease moving my boyfriend in and now were married and he has a police record back in tne day and the denied him to live with his family, we been together 13 years... He went away for some time but now were a happy family, but have no place to live... how can a judge evicted a family with kids! Thats atlantic city n.j for you... They may have information on who you can call for help with your homelessness issue. There was also a list of HUD grants and etc. when I did a google search for "low rent housing in New Jersey". Karri, Nice to hear from you. I do not understand what your husband's former drug use has to do with now, after all if he is not having problems with drugs in any way now, why do they insist on breaking up a family? That is one of the things that has contributed to the demise of poor families through the years...the fact that many people on "welfare" (excuse that word, I dislike it, but for lack of a better one)are single parents is because the other parent was kept out of the home for a long time now, just so that the custodial parent could get help. God forbid one should live with the other parent of their children and ask the state for anything! The system forced people to live the way they do and it is sad really. I remember back when I had a brand new baby, (my 18 year old, a 5 year old daughter (the mother of the babies in New York) and 2 step children all living with me, and my ex-husband...We both worked, but didn't have any support for his kids, as matter of fact we had the kids but were still paying support to the ex-wife because the case was pending in court and she (the ex) kept getting continuance after continuance. We couldn't get any help (even food stamps) because we were married and even with his kids, my daughter and our daughter in the home and paying out child support even while we had his kids, and getting NO support money for my daughter from a previous marriage. I worked at a country club as a bartender that was quite a ways from our home and my husband worked at a sporting goods store in the warehouse...It was a very difficult time and had it not been for the kindness of many people who believed in our efforts to help his children from his first marriage to get out of their abusive life--we would have been out on the streets. I had a good friend who had five children with her then husband, who was a real jerk but she was Catholic and didn't want to be divorced and excommunicated from her church...she was going to teacher's college, raising the children alone and the system didn't care...told her to get him out of her house and find a lover to help her out. Back then she could live with a man who was not her husband, but not her own husband, who was the father of all five of her kids! Go Figure! A welfare worker actually told her to get a sugar daddy and move him into her home and not tell, that way she could still get some benefits! Talk about a mess, the Human Service system is soooooo messed up and it hasn't improved a bit through the years. One has to be practically destitute to get any help all. It is a very sad state of affairs. Please know that I remember you in my prayers and I think of your family and hope that there will be an answer to your situation. I don't know what sort of help there is available in Jersey, but there must be some way to find you a place. Are there any drug rehab programs that might be of help? We have a couple of options for people in recovery here in my town in Nebraska. It seems like there ought to be some sort of program that can help you out with housing while your husband works with them. I don't know if one has to have an ongoing drug problem or not but maybe there is something that you can fit into? Hey Karri, I got kicked off Sec 8 for having a HOUSE-SITTER last summer during weekends only for 2 mos, b/c the horrid neighbors kept breaking-in/vandalizing our house. Sec 8 claimed he was living there, even though I showed letters/witnesses that he wasnt. Now my two kids, and new baby are about to be homeless again. And no one of them give a crap, that is WA state for you. I called churches for help & NONE called back, b/c i got terminated from Sec 8 I am now not eligible for ANY state/Fed subsidized assist.
